Post Sierra cosworth servicing advice

Hi, newbie to 3dr ownership, have recently purchase a black 3dr Sierra Cosworth running stage 3 on greens. Am after a little advice on servicing.

What oil would you recommend and how much to use?
where can I get oil filter and fuel filter, best to use?
what coolant would you recommend I use?
What spark plugs to use and spark gap?

Firstly, well done for getting a 3 dr!
Oil wise, I use Millers 10/60 some people use silkolene or castrol RS i believe, all the same grade.(i get mine locally, but oilman on here does good deals on silkolene)

Plugs, i use motorcraft 071's there cheap as chips and good at that level, can't remember the gap, i think it's 0.7mm but i'm not 100% sure. (Either ford dealer or ebay, if you do a search on here for "finis code for 071" you'll get the right number to quote if you go into ford when you ask for the plugs) There only about £2 each if that. From memory these are actually Series 1 RS turbo plugs.

Oil and fuel filter, I use ONLY standard ford stuff, it's cheap anyway so why bother using some generic aftermarket thing that'll save you £3 or whatever. Plenty available from ebay or your ford dealer if they're any good (most aren't though) Can't remember much about part number for these.

If in doubt give Motorsport dEvelopments a call, they'll sort you out with all the correct stuff and give you 100% reliable info. (better than your ford dealer)

Only ever use 10/60 miller in all my cosworths ,cheapest place is ebay

plugs o71 are as good as anything ,msd are cheap enough

filters from ford

as for plug gap dont know as i have wasted spark ,which in my opinion is a must, brings your cossie into 21st century

If the engine has little wear, I would use a 5W50 or 15W50, but if a few miles or hard use use a 60 weight oil.
I would use IK27 plugs, about £40 a set but work so much better than the 071's, will give smoother running, especially with better coil such as the "group a" as it is known, set at 0.6mm.
Coilpack is vastly overated, at the end of the day if you suffer no misfires, then the ignition is fine, like it was for nearly a century before coilpacks, which were fitted NOT for reliability but emissions and cost, as it is a hell of a lot cheaper to make than a dizzy.
I wouldn't use a FORD oil filter if it was free and fitted free with free oil, I've cut open a few and the rust inside has to be seen to be believed, I've had ford oil filters on mondy's leak from the inside out due to rust, good job the small drip drip was noticed, I only use MAHLE, oil and fuel filters.
