hi guys what do i need to go from 4x4 to 2wd. as i have had enough of my 4x4 blowing the front cv joints and shafts. dont even rag the car.
anyways i know i will need a t5 g/box a 2wd sump 2wd oilly bits. but is there anything else.
cheeRS guys.
Fianally got an engine mount in today on the turbo side. the original was totally fooked. jason3dr came over whilst me and richie were fitting the new one and picked the old one up by the bolt and it totally fell apart in his hand lmao. had to stop though cause it got dark. the driving difference is totally different and no vibrations. just got to fit the left hand one now when me and richies next time slot is available.

full front suspension struts, hubs, cradle, mounts, rack, column, unless you leave the CV`s in the hubs.2wd prop ( which will now kill 7inch diffs!!) have to swop exhaust front pipe aswell if new one mates to your system...........
not as simple as you think, oh and fabricating spacers to make g/box mount fit the floor![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
i was going to use a rwd MT75 gearbox to see how that worked, save swopping propshafts and fabricating mounts for the floor etc. and im sure you can use 4x4 MT uprated fixit/sweedish garkits in the RWD MT gearboxes.

there must be an underlying issue if you have front shaft issues pal, mine was fine even at 500bhp.
i would imagen you are still on std engine mounts? these are normally the cause of problems, uprated mounts allow the engine to sit tighter, and slightly lower to avoid shaft issues. and if the car is too low you will also have problems

the mounts are fine from the mot i had a few months back. i think ill get some collins engine mounts now too. she is lowered 25mm on old konis adjustables but i think they have sunk lol. waiting to fit my gaz coil-overs.
going to the meet tonight richie. will go the slow route though not the a38 lol. or might do just to kill it off and find out which shaft or cv joint is knocking at the mo. got a spare shaft and cv joints though at jay's just incase lol.

engine mounts normaly look ok when the engine is sat on them, they pull apart when under load,
stick a jack under the sump and lift it, i bet the turbo side will split into two pieces, sooooo common
if its knocking on full lock its usually the outer joints

fit uprated engine mounts both sides and some re-conned front shafts and you should have no issues, for a road going car don't fit coilovers stick with your Koni's and fit a set of ahmed bayoo springs, other thing to make sure is that your koni's aren't old and worn as causes the ride to feel very spongy and bouncy

ah bugger. well i have got the coil overs now. i do plan to take the car round a track in the not too distant future as i have also fitted front and rear strut braces.
i think the konis are a bit knackered in the sense they rattle around i think and have sunk a bit lol.
picking up collin engine mounts this evening hopefully
cheeRs guys

Mine did eat the clips from the cv joints also on the left side and the engine mounts seemed ok also, but i eventually did replace them with some of Reyland and everything is fine now ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Only a bit more vibration from the exhaust but thats fine
