Default Petrol tank help please!

hello all, first post so be nice , new to cossie ownership but have just purchased a june 93 sapphire 4wd, few problems to sort out but thats be expected i know

anyway, i need a fuel tank for it, tried ringing round the local factors but most have no idea what im talking about when i mention cosworth, just need to know if the petrol tank from a normal sierra sapphire (injection obviously) is the same as the cosworth item, if not, any ideas where i can get one from (new)

Cheers

Ebay, you can get them for about £50 or less, the aftermarket tanks have a different swirlpot inside but nothing to worry about, some people think its a big issue, but i've had a few and they're ok. I think companies like beevers autopanels or hadrians will do them, do a search on google.

The other thing to be aware of is there is two different size holes for the float assembly.

I was going to include that point that Tabetha made, i've heard that before but never actually come accross a tank that has a different size hole in the top. Defo worth making sure it'll fit a cossie when ordering it tho, but aside from that I definately wouldn't pay the extra money for a ford tank, it's not required.
