Default 2wd steering rack

where can i get a new ford rack cheap,i tried ford and they wanted nearly £300 for 1.is there anywhere got a load or is there a decent refurbisher about that could do it?i have a bit of play on the n/s end of the rack.ta,lee

Lee you can change the track rods them selves

as above,60quid from sdl for the rack ends,i had mine done a few weeks ago.

its the rack itself,not the rod ends that screw into it.the rack lifts up and down about 4mm when you take a hold of it.im going to ask at my local factors today.stu,you got them arms powdercoated yet?

reconned racks in my experiance have been pish,youl need to find someone good to do it,my mate had to do 3 on a sierra and charge them for labour aswell due to play

same here,i had 2 in a row on my rst,i have bought a 2nd hand 1 from paul linfoot till i can justify the £300 ford want,no matter how much i buy i still aint getting a discount yet at my local ford garage!

i bought a second hand one and its been fine,no play but had to get tracking properly set up after it,was well dodgy

Lee yes arms are powder coated,but not fitted lol you wanting the polly bushes back,that i took out,

lee i get discount at ford if any good to you

A lot of factors can send them away, or there is a great place in wales, who also do the 2wd rubber type flexy coupling as well in shaft.
Manual racks of 2.7:1 are available new now for £70, for anyone that does track days etc, or just wants manual rack.
