Default Very low oil pressure - Does a pinto oil pump fit a 3dr????

I have a low oil pressure problem so going to drop the sump and see whats going on

Question is, can someone say for definite that I can fit a pinto oil pump but change the top fitting and fit into my 3dr. I am led to believe the lower part is exact same that cosworth companies want £120 plus for that can be bought for around £30 as a pinto model.

Also how easy to drop the sump.......cross member out, steering rack etc

Thanks in advance.

Leigh

If you have an engine support its easy, strap up the engine and take weight of it.

Undo steering coupling, ARB bolts, crossmember bolts, strut top bolts and the lot just drops down (remember to disconnect brake lines)

I have done it this way a few times, with a good size piece of wood and some jacks to lower the lot down safely its simple engough job. Get the car nice and high with an engine crane (helps lower the body back onto x-member and struts etc...

Cheers
Dan

Thanks guys

Oil pressure dropped while in the q at central day, idle is now around 10psi

Changed the filter, changed the oil, still exactly the same, around 45 on initial start up then slowly drops as the engine warms up, all the way to 10 psi, picks up to around 25 when revved.

Hopefully the pump.

Thanks
