Default My turn - abs light stuck on!!

I'll be checking under the rear seat first of all as its all been apart recently for the beam job.

I was overtaking at about 7.5k revs and noticed it just after that. Stayed on after restart etc. so obviously somethings come loose.

Filled up the tank and the fuel low light has now also come on - not sure if that is a clue or a fluke.

Must have read this 100 times on here but remind me folks - where are the usual hassle points please?

Cheers,

Andy

I can sorta help with the low fuel light. If its disconnected it'll flash when you first turn the ignition on, but goes out shortly after. Not sure if yours is doing that?

Update.

Started car and no light on... great I think. Warmed the engine then revved it up to 7-8k... abs light comes on again???

Removed and checked rear abs as just refiited it all after the beam drop. Light still on. Lifted rear seats and checked connections. Light still on but suspect the seat may have been clipping the connection.

Restarted the car after 5 minutes and light is off and staying off even after I revved it high again.

Does the car need to be restarted to reset the abs light guys??

My fingers are very crossed right now!

Everytime you turn the ignition on the abs system does a self check on itself to make sure all the sensors are ok and the rest of the system is fine too.If your abs light stays on when the car is stood still there must be a dodgy sensor or conncetion somehwere.

All seemed fine for half hour or so today when I did a test run. Smiled too soon, was ticking over outside the garage and when I got back into the car they came on again... arrgghhhh. Looks like I have some more chasing down to do!!

On the plus side the fuel guage seems OK now.

Andy as we all know cossie abs has a mind of it,s own, with what you say i would check the wires at the plug that goes on to abs pump next to turbo, heat makes them brittle and you can loose power

I had this problem this morning, my 3dr has got new sensors all round apart from n/s/f which is waiting in the wings when that one does fail.

But when I was putting things back together last week everything was fine, then realised this morning that I'd put the abs sensors and brake pad sensors through the wrong holes in the chassis legs.

I changed them round and when it was all back together tested the ignition and the light stayed on, looked at the o/s/f sensor plug and the female part of the pin in the middle looked a bit small as if it was not making a contact to the outer teeth so i put a small flat screwdriver in the little cut down the side of the female part and opened it up about half a mm and all is now fine.

Worth a try you never know!!

Big thanks Stu and Neb. Done around 150 miles in her today with a few stops. Pattern seems to be that the light is on once things warm up... goes off after a cool down for a while... so I'll try Stu's suggestion first but have the screwdriver to hand

Wanna be at the pod next weekend so will hopefully sort it by then

Still same problem and had almost everything apart, cleaned terminals etc. Lasts about half hour but beginning to think it might even be the brain. Came on this evening while driving on a smooth and straight bit of road with no braking - just popped on.

10 mins earlier I was blasting and braking hard though a series of corners and the light stayed off!!

Good old cossies
