Looking to get a few bits fitted on my 3 door. Wasted spark conversion etc...

Who do you use in aberdeenshire for all your spannering needs?

Just dont trust myself with a soldering iron for the ecu mods.

Thought about Ricky Gauld, but who else can be trusted in the area?
Also, whats best for fitting a 500 lower rear spoiler to the tailgate?

Cheers

For the sake of a few £ I would travel to somewhere with a decent rep - that rules out a fair few places in Scotland.

Road trip to Blackpool to have MSD fit it would be my choice.

When I sell the Subaru later in the year, the Cossie will be going South for some work. I'm from Aberdeen too but it's worth it for peace of mind.

Ricky Gauld could do you a decent set up etc, not sure how well he'd get on with WS. AVA will take ages and ass-rape you.

To sum up: go South!

Cheers bud,

That was my thinking, Ive only been in ABZ for a few years though i dont know who can be trusted with it.

Previously ive used loads of different places inc , Agmotorsport , Derek palmer, even a trip to harvey at scs, but i'm getting too old for trailoring up and down the country either that or I'm being a lazy fcuker and should just pull my finger oot.

Get it booked into Stu's (MSD)

For the sake of a 4hr drive you can't take the chance of letting anyone up here loose on it.

As above, I don't know of any specialists up here, i know a few people who COULD do it, but they wouldn't be able to give you any guarantees etc... Ricky Gauld is back out at Huntly again, no loger in Dyce, i spoke to him Mon/Tues.

That's fairly sudden then? He was working with Coutts in Dyce wasn't he?

Any reason for the move back out the road? It's a shame cos he know what he's doing and it was good to have him local.

I thought about saying take it to him but I'd be safe with it and take it to the guys with a proven track record with this sort of mod.

Aparently the guy that owned Coachouse died suddenly and their no longer in business (So I heard). I didn't actually ask Ricky about it though, but I went out to the place in Dyce and it's all locked up and no one is there. My car was due to go to him for setup and Mot work when he was in Dyce but I had to shitcan that idea.

Don't just get stuff like coilpack for the hell of it, it's no magic cure for faults, there are masses of big power cars running std type ignitions without any issues.
ie it's not going to cure any faults that you may have that some decent fettling won't cure.

Key word there m8,upgrade,if you fit and upgrade your ignition system by fitting wasted spark you will NOT regret it.

It's massively overhyped and fitted as a upgrade where not needed, the only reason coilpacks came about was most likely purely down to cost, ie it's a lot cheaper than dizzies to produce!!

Nae sure who the head boy was but Dave Coutts was the other mech that was there. He used to do some work on my RS and he was really good. Only problems I ever had was a t/belt that was overly tight and fucked a tensioner. I think the tensioner was on it's last legs and he sorted it no problem.
