i have the diff out of my car and was thinking of changing the oil,is that a good idea or should i leave it alone as theres nothing wrong with it except i dont know if it has ever been changed.if i should change it what oil should i use?
If it hasn't been done in a while, you might as well, but bear in mind if it tips you may lose the oil, so may be better to wait until back in car.

yeah, the diff is completly out as i got an adjustable beam 2nd hand(Ł500) locally so im having it powdercoated, ill drain the diff while its out and refill it when its back in,but with what oil?
Millers CRX LS 80w140 Heavy Duty LSD oil is what I'm now trying out. Going to see if the thicker grade can help with loads between the planet gears as I'm getting bored at having to keep replacing diffs I noticed the GrpN cars ran a Texaco 140 weight oil.
