i want to buy 4 new abs sensors for my sapph cos.can i get them from america cheaper?i think scorpio sensors are the same.i see them on ebay but i reckon 380 each is a bit steep.i know when they were available from ford they cost £121 + vat.anybody know of anywhere cheaper that still stocks them?

They pop up on ebay from time to time, and in breakers yards.

Granadas have them, and any Sierra with ABS has them (XR4x4, Ghia, GLS). Rule of thumb - as long as the resistance of the sensor is around 1200ohms, it should be OK.

i want new sensors ideally,i going to a lot of trouble making my car as 'as new' as possible and abs sensors are about the only thing left new that i dont have.i remember reading that they are still available in america.cozmeister,you sent me a abs trouble shooting p.m a while back.i accidently deleted it and saved another p.m you had sent me when i was having a clear out,i still havent tested my abs witha multimeter to see what the cause of the problem is(abs light on all the time)any chance you could p.m me it again?ta,lee

don't buy them, they won't fit

they are 92 spec ones with the wrong ends

yeah,thats the sensors i have seen.theres 3 on form 1 guy for an xr4i,will they fit?they are front sensors only.how did you get on with those injectors andy?

the ends are different
and you can't change them
it's something to do with the resistance in the ends as these are different pluged with just 2 prongs whereas the sierra ones round pluged

and it's not even as if you can chop the ends off and swap them around either

The abs sensors are still aveable from ford front and rear.I got 2 front ones from ebay for the 2wd cossie which where the right ones with correct part.Also i had some for the v6 sierra which are spot on for the cossie but the only diffrence was the length !!!!

i was in seeing my friendly parts man to get all new bolts and nots for the rear beam and suspension,he was genuinely interested in what i was doing to the car,he did a search and they are no longer available for the 2wd according to his computer.which ebay seller did you get them from,i might just buy them and be done with it if they are any use.

Are the 2wd saff cossie sensors different to the 4x4s cause the look the same to me.

how much did they cost from ford?i was qouted £120 + vat when they were available,i seen that they were obsolete for the 2wd at least as i was looking at the screen.

Will give ford a ring tomorrow to find the part numbers and price but i think it was around £90 pounds for the front and £80 for the rear !

I think that the only difference is the length of the cable for the front and all the rear are the same.
