Recommended fuel or remap??
I've a 1990 Sierra sapphire 4x4 Cosorth with a red top YB and a stage 1 chip. Here in crappy Ireland 95RON is the most widely available fuel but I've a feeling this is no good for my cossie.
What did Ford recommend for these engines?
I've heard Maxol have E5 available here now and its 99RON would this be better or can I have the ECU remapped to run on 95RON??

best bet if possible is to use the higher octane fuel or an octane booster if you cant get the higher grade stuff to easy
it is possible to get the map changed to set up the ignition advance for normal unleaded but this will lose you power as well
i know from experience with my own car that whenever i havent been able to get super unleaded, if i just use normal unleaded my car holds back and splutters a bit when coming on boost, so i only do this if realy needed and then dont let it boost till i can get super,
it realy does make a differance

from what I've read though the octane boosters i can get here are shite (Lucas for example) and only boosts it up a tiny amount not even a full point which isn't really much good

would it be a case where a man could post his ECU (carefully wrapped of course) to a repuable tuner in the UK and he could do all that? Ireland as far as I know is lacking in this area, if anyone knows better then feel free to say so!
