Mecanic lifter
Hi,
A mate have a problem with his YB grA engine fitted in track car (ex Rallycross Escort) with mecanic lifters : too big clearance on valves. (between 0,4 mm. and 0,5 mm.)
Where can he found necessary part to adjust his clearance ?
(see pic as follows)
I think good clearance is 0,20 mm. inlet and 0,25 mm. exh. Is it OK ?
Thanks for all info.

can't really help claude, but they're generally called 'solid lifters' in english if that helps with searching? i know that martin @ reyland fits solid lifters, so may be worth asking him?

I would try piper/kent cams for the different height/thickness adjuster sections that fit inside the buckets.
If using std LENGTH valves there is a alternative often overlooked, that is to use DIESEL 1.8 followers, these are a DIRECT fit and have the shim on top of the bucket, so are easy to do, you can even swap around shims to get some correct, usually only needing 3 or 4(on a 8 valve engine) to get correct, and cost about £3 a shim, peugeot shims are the same, so are vw,(don't know which models) but dealers normally stock whole range as well.

Yes I know that possibility, but diesel lifter are heavy and shims can "get out" at hight rev.
Engine of my mate have "long valves" with that you can fit light solid lifters, that he have.
