205 block limit?

205 block limit?
Currently running a fresh standard rebuilt 205 block grp A headgasket, 803, MSD CHIP, T34 .48 and the other usual bits.
The simple question is, i've been told i could run light blues and .55 - i'm about to replace the turbo so i could change all this at the same time then back for boost/fuel change, is it safe enough for this level of set-up on a standard compression engine??

Everyone will have a differing opinion on this; ultimately on standard cams and compression ratio, you're going to hit det before the limit of the spec you detail on pump fuel (with running a safe amount of ignition).

Your chip will be suited specifically to the set up you have.If you change housings and injectors you would need a different chip or a remap.205 block would take that power level though, there are plenty running well with more power than that.

As above really, its basicaly an unknown area. Some people have successfully run over 500bhp..others have gone pop at 350bhp. How much of those failures are based on poor attention to detail on the build up is unknown ie cleaned out head bolt holes etc. Im still running my cossie's original numbers matching block, on a T4. Its all irrelivent tho when you've got a big batch of 200 blocks spitting their dummies out as well

I'm running a t34.63 with 32 psi peak and a pretty well worked head on standard comp and cams on a rebuilt 205 blocked bottom end.
Karl @ NMS estimated power around 380-400 (it goes on rollers next sat) and touch wood no problems yet.
I won't go any higher than this on the 205 though.
