Default Meshed Quadlights.......... Yes or No ?

I acquired a set of cheap morrette quad lights recently and thought i would perhaps fit them to the cossie for a while and see if they grow on me. To be honest, some cars suit quads and some cars dont, safs are somewhere in the middle.
Any way, whilst i wait to have them painted i have been toying with the idea of meshing them. Some cars have the inner lights removed and mesh fitted, but i planned to mesh all four whilst keeping the lights. My saf already has the grill and the fogs meshed in black so i did the same to the lights to see how it would look, i would appreciate peoples opinions. It has the benefit of providing protection for the glass but i'm not sure how legal they would be

I have to apologise to the owner of this saf for using his pic but it was the only moonstone cossie i could find with quads, i darkened the lights and fogs to see how my car would look if i fit them.

So , Mesh them or leave them clear ????????????

I have seen a blue sapph with the quads left black and a black grill and to be honest I thought it looked real hard looking! not sure about the mesh though mate!!

Unfortunately there's a fair bit of work involved in fitting the lights properly, i.e the standard lights have to be removed as do the headlight wipers, the car is still on the road at the moment so i cant show them fitted just yet.
There does seem to be mixed opinions about whether they look right with mesh fitted, personally they are growing on me. I have sat the plastic quad covers and mesh over the original lamps on the car and was surprised to find that it works pretty well and certainly looks different , they give the car a far more aggressive front end than the standard lights do without being too over the top but they will definately need to be painted, leaving them matt black would be too much imo and look like a job only half done.

The mesh is basically similiar to anti-slip matting, Because its a hard wearing plastic rather than steel, it wont rust or discolour and is flexible enough to be rolled over the lamps and held in place by the cover with no fibreglassing, so if i decide in time that i dont like it its easy to remove with no damage to the morrettes.
