Danny,
I will find out off the guy who's car it came out of. I know it does over 150mph on a 3.9 diff and I've been in the car and it gets through the gears pretty quickly! It is a very strong box, that I can assure you! Will be in touch hopefully tomorrow!
Gareth,
Yeah, I bet. All is well mate - will catch up for a chat soon!!!

Danny ratio's as requested (and for anyone else who might be interested ):
1st = 3.2
2nd = 2.6
3rd = 1.9
4th = 1.5
5th = 1.2
6th = Overdrive of some sorts but top speed would surely depend on the diff ratios.
The gearbox has all X-Trak internals and actually belonged to Pete Doughty himself - he won 3 Tarmac Championchips with it (full rebuilds in between of course!) and was recently rebuilt again as well.
It's a very strong gearbox.

Cheers Ian, it's 1st and 6th thats important to me.
1st is better than my R+D (3.0) as too high for 1/4 mile 4wd.
is there any chance you could find out 6th ratio.
any phone number for Pete him self so i can ask a few more questions i would like answered.
cheers danny

Danny,
The number I have for Pete is 01159 262073, he is a pain to get hold of but he would be able to give you 6th gear ratio details and back up what I've posted. Tell him you want info on the box that Darren Jones (welsh guy) from Nottingham bought off him. That will make sense to him then.
Let me know if you need any other info.
