Hi Matt,

Caps are with it. All bores looked fine until I looked closer in no 3. There's a suspect mark. Can't feel or tell if it's a crack, so will have to get a specialist to look at it. Wouldn't feel right sending it to you if it is buggered. Oddly, 6 or 7 years ago when it was in my car, it was running 371 bhp on a T34 .63 absolutely fine Hmm.

I'll try and get it checked this week and let you know what I find out.

Your wish is my command:

By 4x4, you did mean Evo fitment right? No, oh well, guess I'll keep them on my car then
Fantastic brakes, thoroughly recommend them. Spend the extra and enjoy well proven set up. I'd recommend Carbotech pads in them rather than DS2500 / DS3000 type offerings though.

BTTT for the rest of it. I'm off to Canada tomorrow for a week, so will reply if and when I can get online.

Happy to bring stuff to Central Day if it helps, will need payment first to secure the item though.

Sorry Matt no joy. I don't want to sell it if it is buggered, and the nearest engine machining place now seems to be Bridgewater, 30 miles from me. I work during the day so not been able to get over to the place.

I'll try and sort when I get back if you can wait, but I'm shooting off right now for foreign lands so it would have to be after 15th Feb.

Oi! Car's going with me to the airport, we're staying with friends near by so you'll have to search around the Heathrow area!

Thanks Glen, yep used to have a nippy Saph Cos 4*4 with 475 bhp. Was tatty but had some nice bits on it. Breaking it has got me back around £8k ish, which is a lot more than it was worth hole when it was running.

Couple of piccies of it:

It's normal location

Dead gearbox at Castle Combe while taking an extremely fit girl for a run

Smoked a bit too , the oil breather kit return pipe had melted and so oil flowed onto the exhaust:

The reason I got an Evo - this one left me for dead while not smoking the place out

5 years of blood sweat and tears, plus a few ££s. Top fun and met some top people. Sadly 20 year old car, lunatic driver and track days on a budget took their toll

One last pic, my best ever lap of Combe in my Cossie - 1 complete lap following Martin in his version 2 Escort when he only ran around 550 bhp, not a huge amount in it

Was right up behind him till that point on the track when a valve decided to snap, drop down the bore of no 4 and chew up my 200 block, heavily modded head and Cosworth Racing piston

Hence this thread. I blame Martin!
