My very beloved 1.7 Puma seems to be blowing a head gasket and I wondered if anyone might be able to help with who to buy parts from or even better, recommend a garage or someone in Manchester who would be able to do this for me at not an extortionate cost?
Sorry to just blast on here and ask for help and possiblky not be posting in the right section!! Apologies if I am not.
Very attached to this car and have Fords for years but never had a head problem before so dont know where to start with this.
Any help is appreciated a lot.

Also suggested it could be a stuck thermostat and if anyone could recommend a garage or mechanic in ManchesterI would be most greatful.

 

shame your so far id do it cheap one night,as a ford technician,i would always recomend using a ford cam belt kit for the garantie you get with it,but as for head gasket id get a head kit which should come with thermostat non-genuine.Not sure where is best round your way though,also check the cooling fan cuts in as well.Sorry i couldnt be more help.
