Default Puma boiling over

Recently bought Puma 1.7 started boiling over tonight.

Filled up the water but by 6 miles later there was no water left in the tank again and steam coming out again.

What is likely to be the problem - is it serious?

sounds like head gasket, might be fairly serious if its been ran too hot

If you're lucky it will be a split pipe dumping water on the exhaust, but I would have a good look, and be prepared for the dreaded HG!!

Check the water pump as well in case that's failed and pissing water out.

Thanks.

It wasn't the head gasket but some pipe that had come away under the windscreen, leaking water. Well, two pipes in the end.

Got it fixed for £80 + VAT, but a few hours later started getting problems with the exhaust (see my other thread)!
