Default ABS diognstic test?

Hi. Right. My ABS light is on and the speedo has packed in. So my question is would a garage computer diognstic test tell me the individual ABS sensor at fault or just give me the code I got off my dash test being dtc E200. My local garage wants £40 to hook it up. Is it worth it to tell me nothing if that's the case or well worth it to get the exact sensor at fault if that's the case.

For the computer to be hooked up for £40 I would expect it to be faults read, live data read and possible component testing. If you don't get that you are paying for some one to just read the screen.

Thanks for the reply. That's my question. Will these diognstic machines pick up individual faulty sensors? Or is there just 1 code to cover the 4 sensors as just 1 fault?

ABS systems do identify individual faulty sensors. There are different codes for the 4 wheel speed sensors.

Thank you for that. I'll feel happier parting with my very well earned cash. I just replaced all 4 discs for a new set. This fault occurred since then. I'm thinking it's no coincidence. And in true ford tradition all the sensor torx screws are rusted in tight.

Get on ebay and buy yourself an f - super dongle. I bought one to diagnose abs fault on my old mk3 mondeo. It will read live data from all the cars ecus. Great bit of kit for the money!

Got 2 pal. A USB wired to my laptop one and a blutooth to my tablet one. Reads engine faults and even codes in injectors but won't read ABS faults. On my laptop the ABS is greyed out. Needs the more expensive option

Bought it as an Fsuper. Has the formidable software! Mines the face lift mk3 mondeo if that's any difference. Seen a few threads with people saying the same that the ABS is greyed out. Pressume cos it's a different system to the ecu.

Yes it was formidable I used. Not sure why it doesn't work, worked fine on mine.

Well. I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay out. Ruddy car. It's honestly one thing after another.
