Default Fault on st220 boot popper?

It's started popping open whilest I'm driving and you can hear the mechanism opening randomly. Doesn't do it when no key is in.
But what I also have noticed is I can't open it at boot now via the button.
Works fine on key and button on dash? Cheers

You reckon it's the actual button on boot or switch inside? Cheers

it'll be the microswitch on the boot button

tricky little fucker to get one as you have to dismantle the little bits that get in the way in order to remove the boot trim it's located in

when you pull the boot trim panel off there should be 6 10mm or 11mm nuts holding the panel in place, but it's complicated because there are wires and stuff for the rest of the boot running along there and the number plate lights can be a right pain in the arse to get apart as they may have rusted into place

the boot switch is a tiny little wire you unclip so take it all apart and see if it just needs greasing or a new switch before you order a new one

Is it worth unplugging it for now then?

if you can get to the little wire yes, but it may not solve your problem

worst case scenario is that the door master control is faulty which is a fair amount of work to replace

Just found out that is popping even with key out n when you open the front doors? Also when you turn ignition on etc. Sounds like there is an electrical fault and something is causing it to open the switch? Maybe an earth fault?

it could be the lock that's faulty then

will it pop with the remote? mine did and with the key but not with either button on the car, either the dash or the boot lid

eventually the lock gave up and was fucked but i luckily managed to find a replacement which fixed the problem

It works fine on key fine on dash switch but not on rear boot switch? I fit a front splitter today with self tappers, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I had that happen on my focus mk1. I just pressed the button a few times whilst pressing boot release on the fob. It sorted it out. Might be a different story on the mondeo but worth a try.

It's sorted itself out not done it since. Woke up next morning and was fine. Works on boot too so I think you were right about the micro switch. Cheers guys
