tdci missfire
My 2005 tdci 130 mondeo has developed a fissfire it started off as kinda a flat spot under light throttle (which is all it needs normally ) but seemed to be ok under heavier throttle but there did seem to be a bit of pinking however the next morning it took 2 attempts to start and was quite lumpy on idle , sounds ok when you blip the throttle but as the revs get up a bit it starts to sound like and old Di , rather rattly and it is throwing out blue smoke from the tail pipe , sounds like the timing is out but I believe the timing is done electronically ? any ideas before I start throwing money at it ? Incedently my cheapy code reader is showimg no codes !

Tried the cam position sensor in my mates mondeo to rule out that , came back and put it back in and took the car for a run the blue smoke cleared and it started to run quite well for a wee while until it went into limp mode with the glow plug light flashing code reader showed up p0251 , cleared the code swithched off and resarted it and gave it a bit of a welly the glow plug light and engine management light came on again p0251 and N/A for the eml , rebooted it again and it now stutters like its away to cut out then goes again !

Just to update , dunno how I managed as obviously the mondeo is diesel , my transit is diesel aand the wife's shogun is diesel but I managed to put Ł50 of petrol in (still think it might be the garages fault ) drained the tank last night took the injector pipes off and emptied out the common rail put a new filter on and put diesel in the tank and hey presto it runs fine now , when I discovered the error I reaserched it on line and was gutted , thought the engine , pump and injectors would be fooked but so far so good , I reckon I must of done some where in the region of 35 - 40 miles with the petrol in and was surprised it was running all be it badly !

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
my instant reaction to that would also be to throw in some two stroke and put some more diesel in or mix 300ml in a jerry can of diesel and add that, it will jkeep it lubed and clean the injectors
