Default my 2011 mondeo edge+ having charging trouble

hi folks i am new to site.
i have little car knowledge and am having trouble with my 2011 mondeo edge+
i recently had new flywheel and clutch fitted and about a week later i lost battery power. got the car started and it was working fine for a few days but then same problem. battery light comes on and having to park on hill and bump start it.
friends have told me that it may be bad earth caused by garage not reconnecting it properly. can anybody help me, am a bit wary about going back to garage yet in case i incur more costs for something that they caused.

Either take it back to the garage where it was done or a dealer.

Being a 2011 model car, shouldn't it be under warranty? Thought they came with 3 years.

If they'd left the main earth cable off or loose, I'd imagine you'd have more problems than you have got now.

I had the clutch done by ford and under warranty. But if they find something else then I am going to have to pay dealer prices for what
could be a simple repair.

The longer you leave it, the less chance you have of claiming it was them that caused the issue. Call them asap - Tell them that you've not used the car since the work, and now you're having problems.

How much did the Clutch/flywheel swap cost if you don't mind me asking.

Am surprised that a 2011 car needed one to be honest?

Ford did the flywheel under warranty but charged me 169.00 for the clutch. The car is a taxi and has 54k on the clock so not a big surprise the flywheel went or so I am told.

54K! That's alarmingly low, even for a taxi.

+1

What makes you think it isn't charging, other than the light, that doesn't really tell you anything?

It can't be that it isn't charging (Unless you are charging it?) else you would have been left stranded by now.

It could be a battery fault.

Still within warranty, can almost certainly say it will be an earth problem as I have had exactly the same problem before!
