Default cooling problem st24

hi guys,need some help......my st24 runs ok but the expansion tank is cold even when the temperture gauge is in the middle,and the heater works fine...i dont understand why the water in the tank is cold when the car is hot?????? can anyone help me please

waterpumps are a common problem on these the blades break up and water stops pumping if left it will do the head gaskets look in the header tank while running and see if water is being returned to the tank

what year is it mate ?. the waterpump problems only occured on the MK1 V6, and early MK2.

same engine as mine dude check the thermostate next to water pump if this dose not open water will only move between engine and heater its easy to open the stat house just two bolt and an O ring

hi huys,its a 1998 model(s reg)..i asked one off the fiter down my works and he said its probably the thermostat?

yep would say stats the problem just take it out and replace it very easy job leave main tank cap on you lose less fluid that way and if your short on cash you can just run without it ps you after any tune up part got a 3l throttle body and a unichip intrested?

OOpss just though you have to keep the thermostat cos thats how the O ring seal works my bad!!!

chears chaz,i thought it might be the the thermo,im normally good on the cars,not so much ford,vauxhall maybe-used to have a calibra turbo and done an overhaul on that until bottom end went(rings and the rest)....get new thermo in it tomorrow and give it a go.....

checked the waterpumps been changed to a metal impellor one? does anyone know where abouts on the engine the upump is and how hard is it to check/change it?

Default smokey and alot of condensation

sorry to be a pain guys,are st24s supposed to have a bad condensation problem coming from the exhaust?
any help would be greatfull
