LAMBDA
i have got a 1.8 xr2i lump fitted into my mk5 fiesta and the lambda has gone its a red plug on the loom so am assuming that indicates which one i need.
does any1 know of anywhere to get this lambda from other than ford as cant realy afford to pay80-100 quid out at the moment.
also i need the plug which goes on the loom side where would i get this from too? it is red inside the plug?
any advice would be great or if u know of a place i can get them from even better.
cheers pete

You can use a universal lambda sensor, they are very good these days, think I got my last ones from ecolambda, around £30.
The plug colour may be a ford thing but does not denote the type, the wire colours denote the type, basically does it have a red or not ?, I'm guessing no as with most fords, so will no doubt be a standard 4 wire black grey and 2 whites ?

i was informed the inside plug colour made a difference. i know of a lad who has got some that will work for the 1.6 zetec s fiesta engine would these lambda's be ok for my car then?
also in a previous post of mine i asked about the p[lug on the loom end and you said if i required one to let u know can you still get a hold of this plug or know where i can get one
thanks

The plugs can be got no problem, with that colour combo it will be a Zirconia sensor, on ford 18mm, ranging 0.9 to 0.1 volts.
As I say the colour may be a ford thing, it's not a universal thing, just phone eco lambda tell them what car it is for, and they will sort it right away, it's the most common sort anyway, if it had any red wire it would be a Titania sensor, which as used by ford are 5.0 to 0.0 volts in four wire type, but I have seen 1 use a 3 wire working perfect, must have been made like this as they are 1.0 to 0.0 volts!!
If you need a connector pm me.
