Default Mk6 Fiesta headlights

My friend has a fiesta ST and would like to paint the front grills gloss black as he has seen a few and really likes it.
however, the inside of the headlights is grey and he wanted to know if there was a way you could take the headlights apart without damaging them?

thanks

yes, go at the sealant with a sharp knife and a screwdriver and carefully lever them apart. It will take a while to do though. Gloss black might look kinda wierd behind a plastic lens, maybe matt black instead?

Add some heat to the above so the sealant is easier to get off and your onto a winner with what Rich said.

Be careful and ensure you have a nice seal once you have resealed and don't put straight back in the car, allow to dry in the house for up to 48 hours and ensure the rubber bung is sealed back on properly otherwise you'll have condensation parties each morning.

I think matt black would be the better choice you're right. I'm not sure what he had planned, just dont think hes keen on the nasty grey!

thanks for the feedback tho , them lights do look very sturdy! We'll crack on with that soon i should think.

Cool, I have done 3 sets of focus lights now, and I found that it is best without a heat gun as I kept burning myself, but try it with and see whats best
