Default Focus ST Versus RS Focus

I think it was about time some home truths were said on this topic.

The new Focus ST is good, no question but everybody is getting excited saying that it is to compete with the RS Focus but lets face it, it's not

The Focus ST is fast but it's not an RS. End of story.

If you own an RS Focus you must be very proud , the same goes for Focus ST owners. They are both very good cars

Now deal with it people and let's all be friends

I know people have their opinions out there and I'm sure there are few people who dislike both cars, I just find it difficult that people have to argue who's car is best and I'm sure you will agree, It really does not matter which is best because the main thing is the distinct blue oval badge which makes both cars worthy of such followers!

All the best with your ST, you certainly chose the right colour!! performance blue all the way!

If the RS is the ideal car for a track day, then why is the ST 10secs faster than RS around the Nurburgring

plus the performance figures show that to 60 the RS is 0.1 secs quicker. Is that really a noticeable difference? For me, as much as i love the RS, I'd take an ST anyday of the week.

i have an f plate series 2 and a 54 plate st170 and to say which one was the best would be unfair, totally different cars altogether. could only compare the NEW st to it as both run turbo's. they just dont have the same driving, take the rs, you pull away then 2000-3000rpm... whooosh, turbo kicks in, st170-> power all the way but less torque. doesnt feel as fast due to it no running a turbo to push air into the engine and pull the fumes from the engine.

all in all, both cars are great fords not to be compared!

Ahh, my point has been made!

I totally agree with your last comment and I just wish others would too!!

At the end of every day, an RS is an RS and an ST is an ST. Both excellent, Both better than each other in someway and both worthy of the blue oval!
