Default Focus ST - Bluefin or Dreamscience

Hi,

Was looking on the Bluefin website yesterday & saw that the Focus ST chip is on offer (£320).
http://www.mybluefin.co.uk/search?ma...el=2&variant=2

Decided to look at the Dreamscience website aswell. Thats on offer aswell (£395).
http://www.dreamscience-automotive.c...ffers-2011.php

My questions are,
Which is the best one to get?
Are they are both handsets & can easily swap to the standard map for servicing / mot time?
With dsci, how does it work? Upload a map vis usb to the car?

Most of my driving is around town but do give it a blast now & then. I was going to get a new car but decided now just to get something for the ST.

My ST is a 2007 model with no other mods other than eibach springs.

Thanks

Andy

My dreamscience is a computer program that uses my laptop to plug into diagnostic socket, then uploads the new map, there's 5 different maps to choose from. Really transforms the car, go for it

The Bluefin is a handset rather than laptop connected and offers 6 different maps for the ST.

Pays your money, takes your choice.

I got my Bluefin for £50 second hand, then have it reset to my car with Superchips for £170, download the maps to my laptop - upload them to the handset and I'm good to go for £230 all in.

You can get a dreamscience handset, they are a little more expensive though. Big benefit to them though is that they have 5 'lives' so you can sell it on for use on 5 different cars (not at the same time though).

I suppose that you dont need to have a laptop to use dreamscience? It was the one I wanted.

No, you can get a laptop version which is the one I've got, or one with a handset like the bluefin, it's a little more expensive though.

We had a Dreamscience Ultra Stratgem delivered for CLares ST3 yesterday and have got the Dsci map on it.

All I can say is WOW, what a diffrence the car is totally transofrmed and is now popping and banging all the time. The car is standrard bar this as its only just 14 months old but it has made a huge diffrence and I cant drive it enough now.

When its service time, you just put the standard map back on the car.

Im sure that I read that some people have slipping clutches. This is only with more power I assume.

It would be this one I would get.

Just making sure I know everything first.

That's the good thing with the Bluefin maps, there's "low torque" versions of the Stage 1,2 and 3 maps if you get a slippy clutch.

The dsci system does look good though with it's data logging thing.

If you're not already on there I'd recommend joining The FocusST Owners Club as there's tons of info on there with regard to remapping as well as everything else.
