That's a standard 2.0 flywheel as fitted to the 2.0 Zetec Mondeo 2.0 Zetec focus and the 2.0 focus Rs.

It's a big chunk of iron at ~10kg. And takes a 240mm clutch

It will bolt on to the st170 engine as it's just a tuned Zetec but the Mt75 clutch won't work with the getrag box and visa versa.

There is no standard ford Smf for an st170.

There is an aftermarket one but sit down before looking at the price. Especially the updated one but it is a very nice bit of kit. In fact it's a shame to fit it it looks so good.

And you may be able to make somthing work with the above Smf but you will need to space the clutch bearing to meet the shallower flywheel.

And then there is the clutch plate from a Vauxhall.

Is it always necessary to change the flywheel with DMF. It's a 12 year old car and if i get a couple of years i'd be happy.

i only suggested TTV as you mentioned single mass. There's absolutely nothing wrong with fitting a standard DMF and clutch, it's entirely your preference

No problem mate i can see that
I was trying to find out if it's really necessary to change the flywheel as lots of people on other forums seem to think more often than not you don't need to with a petrol.

I was told to change them both together, as otherwise you could change the clutch then the DMF goes, so you will have double labour bill, I went with TTV as it didnt work out any more expensive than replacing the DMF and clutch,

Thanks for the info, how do you get on with the TTV and was the DMF damaged in anyway.
I'll be doing it myself i expect so the labour will be annoying but not costly

DMF was deffo showing signs of failure when we removed it, TTV is great, cars a little more noisy on idle, but pull away is better, and if clutch goes again, I only need to get a new clutch so if you plan on keeping car for the long haul, then it deffo works out cheaper

if you're trying to save money just replace the clutch and cover.......... the right way to do it is replace the lot. At that mileage there will be alot of movement in it

Yea, I've checked out youtube were there are some quite informative video's on how to check the DMF so i'll do that and see what it's like.
There just an occasional little squeak when pulling away which could be a sign of it's on the way out, time will tell.
Thanks for the replies it's been great help in looking for a best way forward.

the squeek may be slave/bearing related. Just save up and replace the lot imo

Yea it sounds like the release bearing hopefully, the cars just a run around so keep it going and see. MOT time in March if i can get that done and it's not to bad i can then make a decision on doing the clutch.
