St170 remap
I think I need a custom remap.atm I'm still using bluefin but with all the changes on my ST I don't think the bluefin is helping anymore.my mods are.
Retarded exhaust cam( 1 tooth on the original pulley)
Induction
Decat
Msd coilpack.
Advice needed...
Btw in from Oxfordshire UK

Dreamscience can make slight tweaks to their off the shelf map too iirc. Best thing to do is contact Carl for confirmation
I would not go near jamsport with a enemys car as I have seen first hand some of their major very expensive cock ups
, bluefin is a learning program but if you want a spot on map tailored to your car then you need a live remap not a plug and play thing, only a few specialist companys around that are very good like MSD at blackpool or pumaspeed/superchips have a good rep too with the 170, heard poor things about dreamscience and their over optimistic rolling road figures lets say as they are better known for the mk2 st/rs

are there any decent mods we can do to an ST170

Thank you for the reply.i think the car can do much better with the right map. Until then the factory map may be the best?
Btw my detonation problem was sorted with normal Cooper spark plugs =)
Better forget about iridium or platinum
I have just had my vct deleted and kent fast road cams installed and with my other mods it has given me around 205hp which im fine with as its without going silly on a supercharger or turbo

It isn't something i'd do to a road car, because you may notice less power lower down the rev range. Obviously if it's a track car which is always in the high revs..... it's a decent mod
Trending Topics
i'd say mine is around 150 or so........ it is almost identical down the straights compared to my friends ST150
cfm larger throttle body, uprated injectors and pump, msd ignition with magnecors, scorpion sports cat with full ss system, 2nd cold air feed, remap, kent cams , vernier pulleys with vct delete, uprated oil pump and filters, high flow water pump, at moment its on a stock clutch but if it ever packs up I will bung on a solid flywheel but no point in doing that at moment as its very good, but for me I want the engine looking stock so a 35hp gain im happy with

I was hoping to stick with the vvt system, but I guess it doesn't really make any odds to me with it not being a road car
Where did your remap? I'm assuming they set your cams up too?
Sorry for the post hijack aswell OP
most of the parts came from burton racing & cfm in the states and a buddy of mine fitted it all then mapped it and then we took it along to a decent dyno dynamics RR for a few runs to tweek it while running on their dyno it did peak slightly higher but he backed it down to 205 as it ran smoother and more suited for me
You're very fortunate your friend can map. I can do the mechanical work myself, but nowadays as nobody is really interested mapping them. Collins is pretty close to me, but I can't imagine that being very cheap.
I assume you're still running all the standard inlet and imrc?

my buddy used to work at a tuning company where he picked up his skills but he builds cars for fun thesedays
Impressive results!
Clearly these have come a long way. 5+ years ago people were getting less than 5hp from the exhaust cam, bluefin, exhaust, filter etc...back then that was probably Ł2k+ Work. A lot of cash for little gain.

a retarded exhaust cam is exactly what it says really. Standard exhaust cam timing gives the move driveable results for every day driving. By retarding it 1 tooth (rouhgly 8 degrees) it allows the motor to perform better high up the rev range.
