Default ST170 help

Well as some of you may know I own a lovely 2002 ST170, and It's also no secret that I plan on modifying it a little more than the filter I fitted. The capital has been in the bank for a few years now, but my progress has basically gone one step forward, and 20 back. I keep seeming to hit brick walls with help and advice.

The plan was to try and build a replica of the touring car used in a European championship, like pictured (below). Now I don't mean a full on caged track monster, but yes some chassis tweaks and styling along with some heavy engine modifications would be nice.

I won't post up all the people I have contacted, but this list not only stretches to the people that helped build the cars, a few German companies, along with most of the drivers that raced the car back then, and some that have bought the cars to race in other series, but as I have mentioned, I normally open correspondence with "said" people, all seems fine in my asking nicely for help and advice, the response is all positive and return offers are made, then despite asking questions, requests for details, parts used, photos of inside and under the bonnet, well that's where the conversation always ends.

I have emails going back 18-24 months with "said" people, but other than the photos that are easily found online, that is where the information ends. Can any one offer advice as to what I am doing wrong, and where else to look. P.S. I also work at a Ford dealership, but that hasn't helped one bit.. I've been offered ex-touring cars to buy, but even my request to fly out to take photos have been hit with silence . I even planned to attend a hill sprint abroad to allow me to take some photos, but one of the ex cars was shortened in a prior event, so that had to be cancelled. Actually I've even gone as far as asking the companies that sponsored the teams, but with no real results.

I don't want to lose faith, but short of sticking a GT wing on the roof and a wooden splitter on the front (which I haven't done) I can't seem to get anywhere.

I suspect all the parts were custom ? as that would explain why I can't find anything to buy, or get nods in the right direction...

Failing all of that, can anyone offer advice as to what body kit this is fitted to this Focus. I have contacted the photographer and he hasn't helped, which is fair enough. I've also posted on a few American sites, but again no advice has been forthcoming

Again thanks for any help.

The car looks like an American focus svt. You may be able to use focus RS wings and quarters with the American svt bumpers modified to look the same?

Thanks Chris, I have thought about going the RS route, i.e. front/rear bumpers, and wings etc

I just want to try something different
