Default Battery Relocation

I was wondering if anyone on this forum has relocated there car battery to the back of the ST170.

If so what did you need to do so, as in terms of cable, amp-age, length etc, what also do you use to join the cables under the bonnet, and where do you route the cables through the bulk head ?

Also why do people do this ? my reason is I'm looking to expand the size of the airbox, and fit a few other things under the bonnet.

Yeah that's true, do you think having more space under the bonnet would allow more air flow ?

Depends on what you are planning to fit....

I'm in the planning process of making a rather large air box, and just wondered if moving the battery and having more space in the engine bay would actually allow more air circulation ?

Can a N/A engine suffer from too much cold air intake ?

the battery being in the way does limit the size, but i think you are probably thinking turbo applications for getting cold air into the engine

Personally I wouldn't bother. As you probably know the ST170 airbox is already a very good design as standard. I don't think you would be able to make much better, unless you are going for a touring car style panel filter mounted directly behind the front bumper and an inlet hose feeding directly to the inlet, such as this

Only thing I would be concerned about with that sort of setup would be hoovering up a few cylinder fulls of water if you hit a flood or standing water!
