Default Noisy turbo

I've got a 2008 focus st 225, it might just be my ears playing tricks but when I boot it the turbo seems to make more noise.

I had it serviced about 4000 miles and 0/30 oil was used. When I had a chat with tim (that sorts out the cracked lines) he said to use 10/40 so I didn't know if that could be part of it?

Cheers for the help in advance

No, that is the same viscosity as the correct oil which I imagine is 5W/30.

It will be thinner when cold, however.

What do you mean by more noise, as in a bad noise?

Does it still boost like it used to or does it feel sluggish? Could be a boost leak.

I would have a check over of the boost hoses etc, it's not uncommon for the intercooler hoses to blow off so one could be leaking a bit. Mine when it was standard used to make a bit more noise some days than others, unless it is starts getting smokey or whining then I wouldn't worry a huge amount.

As said if you have a boost leak the turbo will be working harder to achieve the same boost, which will shorten the life of it!

Check the hoses etc as said, or get a pressure test done!
