St170 gearbox
Hi sorry to hijack someone's thread can't find how to start new one. I got a 03 st170 72k miles.was driving home and all of sudden couldn't get 3rd 5th gear then after driving but further couldn't get them again didn't hear any noises I don't think.
Now this morning got no reverse 1st 3rd and 5th all gear to the top of the box any ideas?????

 

Is this an instant problem? If it is check your linkages. Mine came loose and couldn't select anything

 

Yeah happened on way home.it still moved around the rest of the box ok then it just stuck in 4th

 

Sound like your linkage. Look under the fuse box at the bracket and see if its loose

 

Under the bonnet?not very good with cars taking it to my brothers work tomo he going to put it on the ramp.just don't want it to be the gearbox.i couldn't see it being that because it wasn't getting the gears then it was then it wasn't again

 

I know a chap thats got a st170 box if you need one?
