A friend has purchased a focus st that's just over 3 years old with suspected cam belt failure.
He was wondering what sort of costs the engines are going for used?
He works at a dealership but doesn't want to fit a new engine due to the high costs and low profit.
I advised to have the head pulled off and inspected for damage but he wants a replacement engine.
This is not a advert trying to buy one, just a general pointer to help a friend.

He estimated around a grand. I thought 2 maybe more.
The fitting will come out the budget so its not much of a biggie for a dealer I guess.
Has anyone know a cambelt to fail on one first hand?
Seems strange it failed so prematurely at 30k and just over 3 years old.
