At that point in the Revs and with no fault code it could mean your inlet manifold has stuck, have you checked that the IMRC is actually switching the runners in the inlet, its not uncommon for the cam to break off. With no fault code it sounds mechanical. If you pull on the cam on the end of the inlet you can feel and hear it move inside.

If the IMRC cam breaks you can hear the controller buzzing all the time through the bulkhead.

Have you tried disconnecting the exhaust in case a cat or silencer is blocked?

Mine has a flat spot @2500rpm.It just hiccups and is then fine, but this happens in every gear. Is this is what yours is doing? If so the ECU is cream crackered and either needs a map or a new one so I have been told.

Have you rang them and spoke to them, im almost cetain they do one and its not listed.
For a decent map i would look no further than Jamsport who can do you a live map or get a flash map from Dreamscience

Yeah called them twice and had same response that they cant find one listed and they even called they're stockists and they no longer supply them...

Think itll be an OEM replacement or a US SVT pump from across the pond.

My avatar is a picture of the remains of my st170 after i rolled it 5 times at 85mph in august last year! Smashed my pelvis, ribs, arm, hand internal bleeding. nearly killed me!! a flash map is a generic map written for the st170 model and is uploaded to your ecu, a live map is written on a rolling road specifically for your car and is infinitely better than a flash map as engines are not generic they are all different

i done a oil change on the st170 that i picked up on sat morning... used ford filter and 4.3 litres of oil taking it to about 3mm over max on dipstick.... it was somewhere near there before i drained it too!
i have noticed ....more particularly tonight because i had the radio off in traffic that it sounds like a quite deisel on idle.... i actually thought it was the beetle tdi infront ...... i pulled over and check oil levels etc and could find nothing obvious the sound however is loudest near the cam pulleys..??? possible crank but unsure...

sounds same both cold and hot .... oil pressure never much bellow half way on guage and oil temp reads correctly used 5/30 comma oil

Such a shame as it was easily one of the best and cleanest examples out there every thing was brand new or uprated. never mind its only metal......scrap metal lol
