hi all
i recently got an st 170 ,on driving it home i heard the unmistakable drone of a wheel baring from the rear.
apon checking it turned out both rear wheel barings were a little rough so i changed them both.
now when driving the car makes pretty much the same noise although all4 wheel barings are 100% ,the noise starts at around 55mph and gets progresivly louder into a sort of droning.
the noise dose not seem to be affected by which gear im in,or if i clutch it iv even killed the engine and cluched it at 60 the only thing that seams to affect this noise is vehicle speed.
iv tried coming on and off the power gently as iv herd worn drivetrain whining before this dose not seem to affect the noise. this must narrow the list of barings/ components down somewhat any help from any one who has perhaps came across this before would be greatly appreciated

 

im having steering issuse at the moment and every time steering flid leaks out the pump makes a awfull wine, worth a look for free

check your brake disks are not getting hot i had this issue turned out to be the hand break dragging

 

swap your front wheels for back could be tires
