Default St170 uneaven suspension !

Hi Guys Newbie speaking !

Recently bought myself a 52 plate st170 which I am rather chuffed with one thing that keeps bugging me is the stance seems to be uneven the front passanger side seems to be slightly lower than drivers side front and rear drivers side sits slightly lower than the passanger side !!!!

Believe me it might jsut be a level of OCD in me but it does notice when the car is sitting at certain angles

The car has done nearly 80,000 so I am guessing maybe new shocks might be the answer ??

I will need to get it checked over but didnt know whether anyone could help or know what its more likely could be shocks or springs ?

any advvice would be greatly appreciated

Ryan

Broken coil spring most likely.

I just fitted coilovers to my ST170 and the cars sat on level ground and the height on the coilover is exactly the same each side but the car is sitting lower on the passenger side. I belive its down to the drop links, you need to slacken off the antiroll bar and reset the drop links each side to spec, if one is out it pulls on the antiroll bar unevenly and effects the oposing side.

Cheers so far guys I'm going to get a mate to look at it monday so ill check out the drop links the car is all original so springs could be slightly worn unevenly the drivers side rear is definately softer and lower hopefully get it rectified want to get some decent springs not too much lower than standard but enough to make a difference and improve car can anyone recommend which are best ?

Seems to be??

Have you measured from flat ground to wheel arch on all 4 corners and compared both fronts and both rears?
Or measured the gap between the tyre and arch on the fronts and on the rears and compared them?

You'll be struggling to get both opposite corners low without the car being bent in the middle..

Eibach springs are the best for standard ST170 shocks, they are ford approved too. They give a 25mm drop all round and are a good imporovment, i had these on my ST170 for over a year before i fitted the coilovers
