Default ST170 Lambda faults

What is it with the lambdas sensors on the ST 170s i have had the car for 3years now and in that time have always looked after it, kept it serviced within 4months of owning it the magement light came on so plugged it in and it said front lambda sensor so new one fitted all sorted. So last friday driving it and it felt abit slugish then all of a sudden light came on so plugged it in AGAIN and now it said front and rear lambda sensor i have just replaced the IMRC box at a cost of £174 now it wants two sensors which are best part of £70 notes each y do they lunch themselfs so much is this going to happen ever 2years the car has turned in to a right money pit my saph cossie cost me less in parts to maintain. Was thinking of maybe upgrading to the st2 but if the st170 is anything to go by best not.
