Do you mean the stickered up one on white Comps?? Looks cool!

But having another car with harnesses I know what a pain they are!

If you use 3 point harnesses getting 2 people in the back isnt too bad, if you want a third in the middle its a bit of a clamber to get there.

Can you not bolt the harnesses to the floor where your seats bolt down?
That's what I did with my puma, but it might be different for the focus

In a word no - in the event of a hard crash there is a very good chance you'll crush your spine.

Shoulder straps should be mounted at shoulder height or as close as possible to. In the event of a crash the belts will be pulling you back into the seat which is what you want. If however you mount the belts to the floor the only direction the belt can act on your shoulders is straight down which if violent enough runs a serious risk of breaking your back. Even mounting them to the rear seatbelt mounts isnt ideal as its still a fairly steep angle downwards but is better than mounting to the floor.

I have Sparco 3 point harness's fitted. They are the type which has the quick release on the rear fixing strap so when you want to use the back seat there's no problem. They are fixed to the standard front seat seat belat mounting points and the rear strap is bolted to the rear seat belt mounting points. Hardly ever used them though as for everyday driving they are too much hassle and far too restraining!!

Heres a few pics.....

The rear selt belt mounts are the fixing point for the back strap......

The seatbelt rail holds one side of the harness, I just unscrewed the rail, slipped the clip over it and screwed it back in......

The inside clip had to have a braket made for it as can be seen in the pic, just bolt the brack to the seat mounting bolt and clip the harness in
