Default focus rs problems with warranty!

hi everyone sorry to be on such a downer on my first post in this room but just wondering if anyone has had problems with ford motor company regarding warranty works or could suggest my next move?,
i've had mine from new on a 53 plate kept up the full ford history as should do, never had any complaints so far with the car, until now booked it in for several little jobs which i assumed would be a warranty affair only fistly to be rang by the dealership to quote me for the repairs, which was a new nsf shock as this was causin a clonking noise, a new exhaust as this apparently causing a rattle at high revs, labour for adjustment to bootlid as knocks when going over bumps, and lastly centre console gearlever gaitor stiching is coming adrift requiring a new gaitor.
well after speaking with cust care expressing my dissapointment at there ways of getting out of this they rang me back saying after reviewing the case they had got in touch with the dealership and agreed to pay 100% of the cost as a good will gesture ,
now they ring back and say there was a mix up on price of cenrte console and they will no longer be covering this item,so now is down to me at a cost of £570odd pounds how can they say that??
i am so mad at the moment its ready for collection, should i seek legal advice?? any suggestions peeps

Tell them to take it off and put the old one back, you are entitled to have the old bits back. I bet they have thrown them away, if they have then you can kick up a stink.

The main issue here is that interior trim is only covered for 12 months under warranty.
Also the leather gaitor isn't a seperate part so they are replacing the whole carbon console as well. They probably assumed it was going to be an under £100 job and were probably prepeared to pay it themselves until they got the price for the console.
If they've gone as far a s 75% then stick at them they may well go to 100%.

I used to work for FMC and can tell you that if you give them enough grief (customer services) they will sort it for you. Dont give up and you will get 100%.
Tell them youve owned many Fords.

FMC are an arse for warranty, really are. As already said give customer relations enough sh!t & they will cave in - eventually. I run the warranty depts for 3 volvo dealers & know warrantys fairly well. On a performance car a manufacturer CAN (Not always but can) say no as it will go faulty due to driver abuse, if they were to try this fight it all the way is my advice.

I work for ford and all that should be covered by warranty. The boot rattle is a common fault on all focus's the exhaust rattle is a heat shield round the cat the bolts come loose and drop out. Where abouts are you mate?

yeah mate they have carried out a fix to the bootlid, from wat i can see all they have done is wrap electrical insulation tape around the latch/strikker which is bolted on the rear panel, which i gotta admit has stopped the rattle , they have replaced the centre box as suspected baffles were broken up but still got the poxy noise, cheers bud will have a quick look at the cat tomorrow see wat i can see
now to top it all off when it went in to ford dagnenham motors to have the works carried out not only did they loose my locking wheel nut key security code, (not the key itself) they also broke the fookin ashtray, so they gotta replace both items , and now me radio has been sent away for repair as the display has started to distort and guess wat???? yep no chance of a loan unit and a wait of upto five weeks.
cheers again peeps

To fix the bootlid, when you open the tailgate at both sides is a rubber bump stop.
Unwind this a turn or 2, but not too much and you can remove the tape bodge from the latch.

The tape round the latch is what ford tell you to do to stop the rattle.

The exhaust rattle could be the flexi-pipe another weak point.

I work at a ford garage and the boot rattle is the catch done loads on warrenty,as for the exhaust rattle on a focus rs it is the cat (over £700) but you should get it on warrenty if you give them a call and tell them how pissed off you are ! and tell them you have had loads of FORDS and you will not buy another! as for trim it is not coverred after 12mths ! I hope this works !

I bought a 53 plate which for some reason doesnt have the revised seats and one wheels isnt finished 2 well i took it to the dealer expecting i could have them changed they agreed it had been missed but customer care refused it as the car is out of its 12 month warrenty I argued that the car has only done 4k and that it was supplied incorrectly They basically said why didnt the origional owner pick up on the fact I said because they didnt know it waqs incorrect ! they said well the dealer didnt pickup on the problem at delivery or service so I said neither did the factory inspection ! so they said I bought the car sold as seen problem

I dont agree they will cave in I spent 30-40mins with some nob called Donald and then spoke to his manager for another 30 minutes even got her to speak to her boss stating the facts of the case ! and nothing nowehere didnt even get time to argue over the wheel

I thank god my seats r fine anyways must be lucky touch wood and feck ive since desidied to get my wheels diamond cut anyways

Fords 2nd n 3rd year warrenty is as good as useless and customer service is very poor indeed and no where near as good as other brands
