Default Door Ajar Light

I just bought a 03 Focus RS and the door ajar light wont go off i know its not the doors as when i close them the interior light goes off but is there a sensor in the boot lock as i cant see a sensor anywhere. would the bonnet plunger keep the light on if that wasn't working?

Thanks for any help in advance
James

Yes it will illuminate for the boot as well, imagine the switch is on the lock itself.

There is a panel on the back of the boot, removing this should give you enough room to see/work, I would have thought, without removing the lock itself

I presume the boot light is not on then when the hatch is shut?

Yep that's right the luggage light is off. I know the bulb is good as I have a brand new one in it now. I had a look and I think the lock will need to come out as all I can see is the black plastic back of the lock and the plug.
