Default Knocking noise from rear

Basically when I'm driving I'm getting a loud knocking noise from the rear drivers side when I'm turning right at slow speeds. Just wondering if anyone can tell what it is, I've been told by a friend that it might be CV joint i just want to know if its going to expensive or not.

if the noise is definately from the rear it is not a cv joint, your cv joints are at the front

Was gonna say, CV joint on the rear???

Is the knocking constant and relative to road speed? Could be bearing or ARB link?

The knocking noise is quiet when driving at slow speeds but gets louder when i brake or turn right at a slow speed. And yeah it seem to be coming form the rear so its not the CV joint.

1. are you sure its from the back?

2. if it is the back it will prob the the rear bushes

3. is it a knock or rumble

4. does it pull the car back when it knocks?

Jack up the back end of the car, chock the front wheels, release the handbrake and grab the rear wheel at 9 and 3 oclock and try and rock it, if there is any movement what so ever its a wheel bearing thats worn out. Do this to both wheels but generally if you turn left and the noise goes away its the rear right wheel, if you turn right and the noise goes away its the rear left.

It turns out it was a wheel bearing that needed replacing on the rear left.
Thanks for the comments.
