Can anyone help?

I have a 2004 Ford Focus 1.6 Edge, have owned it since April 2006. Yesterday, I was driving and it just stopped. I parked up and tried to start it, it started then made a sound, then cut out. I tried once more, and it did the same. I called for some help, and my father started it and drove it to the garage. I called him later and he said that 'there was no oil in the top half of the engine', and that he will have to investigate further.

I am a bit worried, because last month I had the ECU go on me, and about 4 months before that I had the coil pack replaced. The ECU cost me £360.00 to get it re-programmed and fitted. The car has done 55,000 miles and I have had it regulary serviced, book stamped, last service was done about 9 months ago, what could this be?

What on earth does he mean by no oil in top half of the engine?

Was it a genuine coil pack you fitted or a pattern part?

 

I don't know about the coilpack to be honest, I assume its geniune.

The mechanic, those were his words. I just rang him about an hour ago, he said he was still investigating.

 

when you say it "made a noise" what sort of a noise did it make?

 

yeah what sort of noise as mine did this then blew.
