2000 Focus 1.8 TDCi Pre Heater light flashing
Hi,
I am new to car forums - more commonly found lurking on forums for horsepower of the four legged variety.
I have a 2000 (W plate) Focus TDCi estate, and have recently started to have an issue with the preheater light coming on and flashing whilst driving, seeming to put the engine into some sort of 'safe mode' as I have no power.
I did a search on this topic, which brought me to this forum, but now I can't find the thread (I was at work and didn't print it stupidly!!). The thread I found seemed to indicate this is a problem with the throttle pedal & sensor - it gave a method to get the error codes for the car on the dash display.
Can anyone either provide the answer or link me to the thread?
Also while I'm at it - the light in the boot does not come on when the boot is opened, even if the switch is set for it to - is this usual? If not, where do I find the sensors to check they are working properly?
Thanks

Not sure if its the same thing but my engine management light came on last week and i lost all power although the car was still drivable. Turnd out to be the glow plus that needed replacing.

A workmate of mine had exactly this problem on his Mondeo TDCi recently. I can't remember what he said it was in the end. I'll find out for you but it cost him over a ton to get it sorted.
