hi, im new to all this so please be gentle with me

basicaly ive just gotten a new focus (60 plate) and having issues with her already.
firstly the windows, after looking at the manual it says that the windows should automaticly open an close with the switch. it will open automaticly when i press the down button but i have to hold it for it to shut. quite annoying.
it says it has to learn but ive tried all this over an over again

also the standard stereo im happy with, but i was told it would play mp3 discs but all i get is "cd error" even tried different discs. its a 6000cd with volume in centre and an aux socket in glove box.

I think you may be getting confused with playing MP3 compiled discs and the aux socket, it probably means you can use the aux socket to plug in MP3 player etc.

Not sure about the window bit should certainly open 'One Touch', maybe it just auto closes on higher models?

Have you tried playing a pre recorded CD?

With the windows, there should be a symbol on the electric window switch to say if they are 'one touch' windows.

Also, well with them mk1 anyway, it wont have one touch windows in a 3dr.

 

The one touch open/close is something thats on the Titanium or cars with 4x electric windows.
if the car is something like a Zetec, Style, or even a ST with electric windows in the front there is only one touch down on the drivers window.
One touch window buttons have a double arrow on them and click up and down twice.

 

My ST only does one touch down, not up.

 

thanks for your replys, the dealer said it would play mp3 discs and i have played normal recorded cds an they work just not mp3 discs. i rung them an they said it "should" play.

as for the windows it does have a double click feel to it on the down but not on the up. strange as i would like them to close one touch rather than open .
does anyone know if its just the switch i need to change over? the handbook doesnt say whether or not its certain models

 

Auto up won't work unless you change over the complete window mechanism as there will be extra microswitches etc that yours won't have.

 

Cars with one touch up and down (global closing) will have door modules and a different loom in the door. This is something im currently looking into as i want to add electric rear windows and global close to my ST.
