dont wory about it, tis normal on zetec engines. the solid lifters can cause it to sound a bit tapety too making for rather noisy engines

Wait till your Dual mass fly dies, that will mask the noise of the injectors lol

This is interesting. Ive been hearing a funny noise coming from under the hood when my 1.8tdi Focus sport is ticking over and its in the process of elimination at the moment.

Took it back to the dealer i brought it from (2006 model) and to begin with i was told it could possible be the fly wheel or release bearing but the mechanic at teh dealers said there was a while bad smell of deisel and he is trying to rule out bad diesel running through the car.

He put through and additive and told me to fill up and clok up 300miles. Nealry got that done and going to book it back in next week. The noise is still there and so too is the whiff of smelly diesel (even after changing where i normally fill up).

Said he may take it to ford for the diagnostic mchine but originally rules out injector as the engine management light or injector light wud of come on the clocks

Any ideas??

when my mum's focus tdci dmf went the engine would shake a lot on start up, not in the normal back and forth rocking but on the front to back axis of the car.

i think your problem though may well be injector/fuel system related as you can smell fuel. prob a leak somewhere.

Yea. He said the car was shaking quite a bit..Which i didnt even realise.

well the apart from fucked or loose engine mounts the only other thing i can think of that would cause the engine to shake more than it should is a faulty injection system akin to a missfire on a petrol.
