Difference between Focus RS and Focus Zetec box?

Default Difference between Focus RS and Focus Zetec box?

Hi, can anyone tell me what the differences between the Mk1 Focus Zetec (1.8 and 2.0) and Focus RS gearboxes are. Does the RS just have a diff in or does it go deeper? They're both MTX75 right? Cheers, Craig

both MTX75, RSs has a bit different gear ratios and a Quaife differential

the 1.8 is on an ib5 btw.

i would guess there will be more internal differences.

yup, forgot to write, 1.8 has IB5, MTX75 is in 2.0 130HP and 215HP and diesels

no other differences and swap is P&P

Shot peened internals on the RS box also.

Thanks very much everyone! Didn't realise that ford put such a cocktail of engines/gearboxes in the focuses, lol. 1.4 and 1.6-zetec SE and IB5, 1.8-zetec E and IB5, 2.0-zetec E and MTX75, RS-zetec E with modified internals (although badged as duratec!) and modified MTX75. Ballbags! lol

I assume this is the reason that only the 2.0 zetec came with ESP???
