Default Focus mk1 1.8 fuel surge problems???

Hi all i own a 99 3 door focus 1800 zetec, when im below 1/4 of a tank of fuel my car has no power when going round a right hand bend. the when i exit the corner the power comes back a couple of seconds later?? the car has NOT been modified.

I have heard of this before on conversions from carb to injection. But as said above my car is standard??

Any ideas??

Many thanks
Drew

don't think it's a problem, just the focus "thing" - apart from mine itp happened to several focis on the same curve on the same track, everyone had about 1/4 of gas tank...
maybe a stronger fuel pump would help
