i've got a 2l w reg focus. had milltech cat back on for a while and then bought a focus central 4-2-1 manifold used off a mate that needed a crack welding up. actully it looked like one of the collectors had never been fully welded up

as its a LOT longer than the standard manifold it romeves the cat aswell and i noticed an instant improvement...especially past 4k. i'd kinda got used to the way the car pulled when i booted it before the manifold but after it shot me back into my seat again!!!

personally i wouldnt bother with just a decat as the standard manifold is too short and crap! better off going st170 manifold and cat and flexi as that'll make the best gains and decatting the st doesnt make uch difference if any...although sounds awsome

yup focus is blacktop 113bhp.
5-8bhp gain i would say, milltek's website stats a 12bhp gain on the manifold and decat

no, 5-8 bhp with milltech's manifold which is a 4-2-1 type and replaces the standard manifold and cat

just a guess really m8. makes sense to do the manifold to as the focus has a mani-cat set up. the cat is on the manifold.

i dont know about the 1600 mate but the 1800 and 2l have a supidly short manifod going straight into the cat which sits infront of the block so all perfoemance manifolds (bar the obx shorty which is crap) replace both the oe manifold and cat

thats a load of hassle to the engines r mounted the oppisite way round so the mounts dnt match ect, cheaper to buy a 1.8/2.0 and then put the rs lump cheaoer than all the fab work needed.

true but still better idea than turboing the 1600 as it'll be cheaper for more power with the rs engine.

tbh, its not that hard. you just need the rs mounts etc. my mate did it to his 1.6 ebony!!
