Default 03 shape RS or st170

Hello all . I may have posted this is the wrong bit, i wasnt too sure where to post it.

Well a while back i was looking at getting an escort RS Turbo. After having a look around ive got my eye on an st170 or a focus RS ( older shape )

Theres something like 50 bhp between them both and any where from around 4k plus price tag.

Now my question is could i get an ST170 then basically tune it or put one of these ST170 race engines thats ive seen and then supercharge / turbo charge it and it would be even quicker than the RS?

and then could get the rest built up as ive seen a " race engine ".

OR

should i buy the RS then if i need more power just get it remapped or if im realy fussy a bigger turbo

I am looking around the 5 second mark without use of any nitrous is it too much to ask ?

buy an RS if your unsure just go the whole hog n buy RS, i think u may regret nt buyin one if your "unsure"

One of my mates, mates has an focus mark 1 RS. He has had his engine rebuild and is putting out around 500 bhp.

How much power is possible from the RS?

Is it " alot " better than a st170

ive now got a mk1 focus rs and had a st170 and the st170 is a class motor but go for a rs if you can bud trust me much better car

iv just sold my rs for a house deposit, and iv bought an st170 to use.. at the moment im putting an rs engine in it!! lol.

if its just the power your after, your going to spend that extra 4k price difference just modding the st170 to rs power! and the more power you want, the more its going to cost you..

when once you have an rs for around 500 notes (induction kit, map, actuator, decat) to get 300bhp out of it!

then for 350bhp+ youre talking a manifold and hybrid turbo.. around 600 for a manifold and 750 for the turbo.. so all in for around 2k!!

plus, you get people turning heads as you cruise past in the rare rs

the rs is going to hold its value better when or if you ever come to sell it to
