Default Electrics

Just a little annoying problem, first thing in the morning i unlock the car to take the missus and kids to school my door opens fine but it take between 5 40 secs for the central locking to kick and unlock the resthasen't done it at all through summer so im guessing it either the cold or damp morning dew thats causing it. also when i driving along on the odd occasion the central locking will lock all the doors for no reason, (Scares the crap out of me)

Any ideas?

Thanks
Danny

I think the locking while your driving bit is due to how it is setup, I sourced this info from FordST170.co.uk:
Auto Door Locking (source: Tourque Steer)
  • 1. Turn on the ignition but dont start the engine
  • 2. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it (Repeat this operation three times)
  • 3. Turn off the ignition
  • 4. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it (Repeat this operation three times)
  • 5. Turn on the ignition but dont start the engine. A beep should be heard
  • 6. Lock the door by pushing in the button below the handle and then pull the handle slightly to reopen again. A final beep should be heard and then start the engine.
Basically, once you set this up the doors will lock automatically more or less as soon as the car starts rolling, nominally @ 7kph. You'll still be able to open the doors by pulling the interior handle, but they won't be able to be opened from the outside. If you stop and open the door though they won't relock automatically unless you turn off the engine and restart - basically, it works once per journey, after that you have to do it manually. And in the event of an accident, the airbag system will unlock the doors automatically, so you don't need to worry about that aspect.

I dont know how to disable it though.
